Sacrifice Blog

Damn.

Sacrifice gets a little crazy. Granted I can't sit down and play it forever, but basically you're a wizard and you summon your army. You have a little soul counter, and your basic units cost 1 soul, while more advanced cost multiple souls. Whenever the units die, a little blue soul floats above their dead body. Run over it and you get that soul back, and can summon more units back. recycling souls kind of thing.

Whenever an enemy wizard's units die, a red soul appears and you can convert it by casting "Convert Soul" on it. It summons something called a Sac-Doctor (sacrifice doctor most likely), an it takes the body back to your Altar, and if he makes it there without being killed, the new soul is yours.

Your Altar is your life. If you die, you become a ghost and can't do anything but watch your remaining units fight. When your life recharges to max, and your mana to 1/4, you ressurect right there. But if your altar is destroyed, then you're banished completely and Game Over.

And it turns out Gamespot lied, or I misunderstood. They made it sound like you could choose to follow only one of the gods out of the 5. As if the other gods weren't playable...but you can choose a god at the beginning. Just can't choose other wizards.

I chose the god of Air, and this last level I played (and got owned on), gave me little Scarabs that heal my guys.

Speaking of healing, whenever I send out my units to kill stuff, I only use two spells. Heal, and when they're not dying, I lightning enemies to help along the fight.

Whenever the enemy wizard's units died and I see all these red souls... I get ready to start converting them one by one, but as soon as I get to the second, he's ressurected, runs in with "Speed Up" buff on him, and just runs all over his souls and picks them up, then runs off.

What a dick.
