I'm here, writing about games, either in blog form, news form, or review form (that last one usually presents itself more of a "First Impressions" kind of review than anything else. Sometimes I do full reviews after I've beaten the game). Just sharing the wealth of video game information. Spreading the names of games I like or dislike. Each with the idea of "You should try it for yourself, you might like it" or "You should definitely play this game!"
Everyone's tastes are different, so just to give you a quick glimpse of mine...
I'm actually having trouble getting this one, because I consider my taste to be very eclectic, and wide-ranged, but at the same time very "ADD". I can be so picky with video games that they become short-lived for me. The games that I can keep with the longest are usually very quirky, or at least have several features in it that really pulls me in. Out of all the genres, I would guess Action/Adventure is my favorite. Beyond Good and Evil and Okami are two of the recent favorites of mine. I started Star Fox Adventures, and I'm enjoying that (Update: I'm not enjoying it anymore), however I'm borrowing FF10 from a friend since I never got the chance to play it. Immediately afterwards, I'll be back to Star Fox Adventures (Update 2: I did, and then dropped it)
I started my gaming days with Mario for NES. But my true, hardcore and sit-down-for-at-least-an-hour gaming days started with fighting games. Street Fighter 2. Then Mortal Kombat 2. Then Killer Instinct. In between Killer Instinct and MK2, I played a lot of Doom and Duke Nukem 3D. With my introduction to some RPG games, and Starcraft, I really fell out of the Fighting and FPS genre... The only FPS game I've beaten since Duke Nukem 3D was Prey, all the others just felt like crap (save Alien vs Predator. The only reason I couldn't finish AvP was because those face huggers creeped me the fuck out!)
There's just something about tiny spider-legged aliens that leap onto your face and screech that I just don't enjoy!
Similar to Duke Nukem 3D. I was 6 and I really didn't enjoy roaring pigs with shotguns as I turned corners.
That's probably the best I'll be able to do on explaining my tastes, but if I ever try and give a "review" on a game, I try and maintain a neutral point of view, and at least try and point out something that someone in the world might enjoy.
Sorry in advance for my poor writing skills. I either come off as someone TRYING to sound professional and failing, or I make no sense at all with my terrible sentence structure.
I make due with what I got.
If you have any suggestions on "Hey you should try this game, you said you liked [this] so you may like it!" I'm alll ears. I love checking out new titles.
After all, I'm a gamer first. This isn't even a second... this is just a hobby. An outlet, if you will, for talking about video games.
